Dr Radhakrishnan is immensely readable for reasons more than one. He spells out India’s ancient wisdom in modern idiom. The book sketches in a masterly fashion the development of Indian religion and philosophy, from the early days of the Indus civilization, and emphasizes the extent towhich the basic Indian religion ignores differences of race, color and language. The Inquirer calls it, a highly stimulating and deeply satisfying book. If one wishes to seethe great problems that face mankind today through the eyes of one steeped in both the wisdom of the East and the philosophy of the West, there is probably no one more competent to give us that insight than Professor Radhakrishnan.
