This book carries daily prayers of the Sikhs in Roman, as well as, in Gurmukhi Script with Translation of each verse in simple English. It also contains Summaries of the Teachings.Nitnem means recitation of certain Banis (Hymns) everyday without fail by the Sikhs, as ordained by the Satgurus. It is essential for every Sikh to read at least five Banis every morning. The first one is Jap(u)Ji composed by Satguru Nanak Dev Sahib. The second and third are Jap(u) Sahib and Tav Prasad Savaiyas, composed by Satguru Gobind Singh Sahib. The fourth one is Anand Sahib, composed by Satguru Amar Das Sahib. The concluding chapter of the book is a later addition dealing with what happens after death. Also explained in this chapter is why the Sikh Gurus have laid stress on the worship of God and the repetition of the Name.
