These stories were written by him during the years 1908-1914, and this collection was first published in 1914 under the title Prem Pasichaa.

Literary Works of Premchand have been collected in 22 volumes and are being published under the title Kulliyat-e-Premchand. The volumes have been arranged as follows:

Premchand is a pioneering figure in Modern Hindi literature.
