 Indiaclub.com Description

Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat, is one of the most misunderstood chief minister that India has seen ever since independence. He has frequently been criticised following the torching of the coaches of Sabarmati Express at Godhra and the riots that occurred as a result.

The English media, especially, has come down heavily on him for supposedly not taking swift action against the rioters. What is the truth about Narendra Modi? With a lot of original research as their foundation for this work, the authors have come up with this discourse which attempts at making the picture a bit clearer.

The book encapsulates the journey of this man from the time when he was an RSS Pracharak, always ready and willing to give up power to serve his country.

Such is his popularity now that India-TV’s poll taken in August 2005 showed that ninety-one percent viewers favoured his continuance as Gujarat’s chief minister and in January 2006, readers of a popular Gujarati magazine, Chitralekha, voted him to be the most popular person.

By channelising government revenue and understanding the landscape and people of Gujarat more closely, Modi has made a place in the hearts of many.

The book traces Narendra Modi’s career and the manner in which he has turned the state into India’s number one industrial state in the bare space of about half-a-decade.
