Description

This volume in the size of 18.5 x 13.75 inches with beautiful color blocks is a rich collection of paintings known by Kotah style.

The beginning of Kotah painting as a separate school appears to belong to the reign of Rao Jagat Singh (AD 1675-1684).

The rulers of Kotah were connoisseurs in the art of Shikar or hunting. .The well-known hunting scenes of the Kotah Kalam which attained such prolific popularity seem to have come into vogue from the period AD 1723-1756.

The present volume is the story of an age when the art and line and color was held in high regard and beautiful miniatures and murals were painted in the kingdom that was Koto.
