Shri M D Chaturvedi, a graduated engineer from Benaras Hindu University, had a distinguished career with AIR and retired in 1968 as Engineer-in-Charge. He was honored by the President of India as a pioneer of broadcasting service in the country.
A keen student of Hindu scriptures from his Benaras days, he reactivated his interest in the subject under the guidance of Swami chinmayanandaji and made an extensive study of Upanishads and Gita at Swamiji's Ashramas at Uttarakashi and Siddhabari.

His first book in Hindi, titled "Hindu Dharma Ki Roop Rekha" in 1974 was patronized and supported by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and the Uttar Pradesh Government.
