Anjana Appachana
Anjana Appachana was born in India and educated at Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Pennsylvania State University. Her first book, "Incantations and Other Stories," was published in England, the United States and India and was translated into German. Her story, "Sharmaji" was included by Salman Rushdie and Elizabeth West in the collection, "Mirrorwork: 50 years of Indian Writing. Appachana is the recipient of an O.Henry Festival Prize and a National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing fellowship. She lives in Tempe, Arizona.
