 Indiaclub.com Description

This novel is Hindi translation of witty and hilarious collection of Humor and satire of famous writer Krishan Chandar.

 About the Author

KRISHAN CHANDER is one of the most widely read Indian fiction writer through out the world. His works have been translated not only into Indian languages but into various languages of the world. In erstwhile USSR two million copies of his works were sold and doctorates were conferred on German and Czech scholars for their research on him. A Theatrical production of his novel EK AURAT HAZAR DIWANE had a long run in a Moscow theatre and a children's carton film was made based on his novel Ulta Darakht. Born in 1913 in Bharatpur state of Rajasthan, Krishan Chander grew up in Poonch (Kashmir) where his father was a Doctor. Kashmir's natural beauty and the grim poverty of its people left such a deep imprint on his creative psyche that Krishan Chander emerged as a writer unparalleled in his depiction of Nature and unfailing commitment to the cause of common people. Such blending of sensibilities inspired him to write some of the world's best romantic, idyllic, humanistic and revolutionary pieces of unconventional fiction.

In his early period he wrote in English but later he wrote exclusively in urdu.

He was a prolific writer and wrote novel, short stories, plays, fantasies, children's novel, travelogues and memoirs, which run into over 80 volumes. His Political satire EK GADHE KI ATM KATHA, GADHA NEFA MEIN and GADHE KI WAPSI set a new trend of political satire in which animal and men locked horns.

To urdu language, Krishan Chander gave a prose that will remain the envy of poetry. None can match him in the mesmeric and picturesque language which gave urdu new words, expressions and linguistic aesthetics. But in his political satires, his language is razor sharp, naked like the sword.

Krishan Chander had a deep understanding of history and the dynamics of the period he lived in. He was a sort of visionary and his historical and sociopolitical observation and comments are almost prophetic.

Like a search light, Krishan Chander scanned the whole gamut of human society and his works cover subjects which his contemporaries never reached. Like a powerful radar, he picked up signals from far and wide and his works provide to readers a telescopic view of the age they live in.
