C P Srivastava had a brilliant academic record obtaining first-class first BA and MA degrees with specialization in Political Science. As an officer of the Indian Administrative Service, he had a distinguished career. He served as a close personal aide and adviser to India's second Prime Minister, Lal Bhadur Shastri. Srivastava's biography of Lal Bhadur Shastri - A Life of Truth in Politics, was acclaimed as an outstanding work of scholarship. With his vast administrative background, he has now written this volume on the most perplexing and debilitating problem of India - Corruption. Dr. Srivastava was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1972. He has been conferred a knighthood by the Queen of England.
