Prominent Photographer

Raghu Rai
Born in the Punjab in 1942, Raghu Rai, is internationally recognised as India's most distinguished photographer. A member of Magnum, the photo agency for premier photographers, his work has appeared regularly in Time, Life, Geo, Paris Match, National Geographic , The New York Times and The Sunday Times. Awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1971, Raghu Rai has to his credit a string of national and international awards and has exhibited his work in London, Paris, New York, Prague, Hamburg, Tokyo and Paris. Twenty-five of his photographs are in the permanent collection of the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris.
