About the Author

Film-maker and corporate communicator, JAYABRATO CHATTERJEE’s first novel, Last Train to Innocence, published by Penguin in 1995, won the Hawthornden Fellowship. He was Writer-in-Residence at the University of Stirling, Scotland, in 1999. His second novel, Beyond All Heavens, brought out by Harper Collins in 2003 garnered excellent reviews. His films and documentaries have played to international audiences and he is managing editor of Kolkata’s first lifestyle magazine, Inner Eye. An incorrigible traveler, Chatterjee’s creative energies find divergent expression on celluloid and the written world. He lives in Kolkata, his favourite city.
