The purpose of this book is to present some of the main principles of the occult teaching to the ordinary reader and also to supply the serious student with sufficient material for original study. With this end in view, references relevant to a subject given in the Secret Doctrine as well as those which supplement them for further study have been collected and translation has been provided wherever necessary. The references from the texts have, as far as possible, been included at the end of each chapter for study of the original. The inclusion of similar concepts occurring in other ancient texts will enable the reader to appreciate for himself the value of the doctrines and to assist him in further research.
